Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten

Preschool Program:

Our Preschool program is designed for children who are age 2 prior to September through age 3 prior to September, and are potty trained. Our preschool is fully licensed by the State of California. The program has space for up to 20 children who are cared for and taught by 3-4 attentive adults.  We provide full-day instruction, play and supervision during the regular school year, with regular summer break and Catholic and State holidays off.

The ICS Preschool Program is proud to be led by an outstanding Director with a full-time Teacher plus a full-time Pre-school Aide.

The emphasis of the Preschool curriculum is the social and emotional development of the child. Manners, empathy, sharing, and listening are the foundations from which all other understanding follows. On a daily basis, children learn shapes, colors, and numbers, which are incorporated in rhymes, songs, and themed activities. Teachers pursue a more in-depth look at themes that are of particular interest to children.

For information about tuition please contact the school at (213) 382-5931 or email Mrs. Martha Ruiz at mruiz@ics-la.org.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK):

This program is designed for children who are age 4 prior to September and are potty trained. This is the first phase of a two-year kindergarten program. The program has space for up to 28 children who are cared for and taught by 2 attentive adults. We provide full-day instruction, play and supervision during the regular school year, with regular summer break and Catholic and State holidays off.

The ICS Transitional Kindergarten is proud to be led by a full-time Teacher plus a TK Aide.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a bridge between preschool and Kindergarten which provides young children with enhanced skills and experiences that boost their abilities for learning and retaining information in Kindergarten.  Research shows that children who attend TK are more likely to acquire the academic skills, confidence and maturity they need to succeed in school long term.  Research also shows that children who participated in high-quality early education programs tended to have higher scores on math and reading achievement tests, greater language abilities, and fewer grade retentions.  In addition, children who attended TK were less likely to need special education intervention, remedial support, and experienced lower dropout rates.

For information about tuition please contact the school at (213) 382-5931 or email Mrs. Martha Ruiz at mruiz@ics-la.org. There is discounted tuition for families who have more than one child attending ICS in the TK through 8th grades.
