ICS provides a comprehensive academic curriculum which serves as a foundation for students to develop efficient critical thinking. With a core focus on English and Language Arts and Mathematics, students learn the necessary prerequisite skills that will enable them to fluently take on higher level academics. We strive to develop students who not only know, but also who understand and apply.
Students engage in a rigorous course experience through the Wonders curriculum in ELA and through the Reveal program in Mathematics. Furthermore, we utilize differentiation programs such as ALEKS and other supplemental materials to help engage students at all learning levels.
With the tools provided, the faculty and staff are committed to their professional development, seeking new innovations through weekly professional learning communities. ICS takes pride in being a blended-learning school where traditional teaching methodologies are infused with the use of technology and employed as a whole-class model, as well as in small group and collaborative instruction. Students in Preschool through 8th Grade are provided with iPads.
